Miss Howard County Queen Rules and Regulations
- Contestant shall be a citizen of the United States.
- Contestant shall have been a resident of Howard County and/or have worked or been enrolled in school full-time in Howard County for six months prior to the date of the pageant to be eligible to compete for the title of Miss Howard County. Documentation may be requested.
- Contestant shall be not less than 17 or more than 22 years of age as of Sept. 1 the year of the pageant.
- Contestant shall have always been female, never have been married or have children.
- Contestant may not have previously won the title of Miss Howard County.
- A complete entry will include the following:
- $25 entry fee
- name of local sponsor
- completed fact sheet and biographical information which clearly represents contestant’s true and actual background
- selection of a talent which can be performed within a 2-minute time frame (completed talent form)
- one photograph submitted for publicity and judges’ books
- Conduct deemed to be improper and detrimental to the Howard County Fair or the queen pageant will be reason for disqualification and dismissal by the fair board.
- If Miss Howard County fails to complete her term, the title will be passed to the runners-up in the order of their rank, beginning with the first runner-up.
- Miss Howard County must be able to reign over the Howard County Fair for the year of her title.
- Miss Howard County will be eligible and expected to compete in the Missouri State Fair Queen Contest for the title of Miss Missouri State Fair. Contestants in the state contest will be required to provide a female chaperone of at least 25 years of age to accompany her for the time of the Missouri State Fair Queen Pageant and throughout her reign if chosen Missouri State Fair Queen. The Howard County Fair will cover the cost of housing made available through the Missouri State Fair host family program. Any additional expenses will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
- Contestants will compete in the categories of talent, evening wear, on-stage question and personal interview.
- Contestant agrees that the time, manner, and method of judging shall be at the discretion of the Howard County Fair and the decision of the judges will be final.
Miss Howard County Teen Rules and Regulations
- Contestant shall be a citizen of the United States.
- Contestant shall be a resident of Howard County to be eligible to compete for the title of Miss Howard County Teen.
- Contestant shall be not less than 12, nor more than 16 years of age as of the date of the pageant.
- Contestant shall be female and never have been married or have children.
- A complete entry will include the following:
- $25 entry fee
- completed fact sheet and biographical information which clearly represents contestant’s true and actual background
- selection of a talent or speech which can be performed within a 2-minute time frame (completed talent form)
- one photograph for publicity and judges’ books
- Conduct deemed to be improper and detrimental to the Howard County Fair or the queen pageant will be reason for disqualification and dis- missal by the fair board.
- Miss Howard County Teen must be able to reign over the Howard County Fair for the year of her title.
- Miss Howard County Teen will not be expected to assume any further obligations after the fair except to give up her title the following year at the Howard County Fair Queen contest.
- Contestant agrees that the time, manner, and method of judging shall be at the discretion of the Howard County Fair and the decision of the judges will be final.
- Contestants will compete in the categories of interview, talent, and party/evening wear. Interview will be a private interview with the judges. Talent and party/evening wear will competitions will take place on stage at the Howard County Fair Queen Contest.
Scoring: Interview – 1/3; Talent – 1/3; Party/evening wear – 1/3
