New in 2025 in red:

All 4-H and FFA exhibits must have a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (Health Certificate) to be eligible to show. This Health Certificate must have been written within 30 days of exhibition. All cattle, swine, sheep, and goats must also be identified by either an ear tag, electronic implant or tattoo. This new rule comes from the Missouri State Fair and will effect open classes in 2025.

If an animal loses their ID tag, call the species Superintendent to let them know.  You will also need to send a picture of the animal and the tag number…all 15 digits, to the Superintendent.  The vet will retag your animal when you go in for the county health papers.  The old tag number will be crossed out when the new tag is put in.  THEN, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE EXTENTION OFFICE, with-in a week, of this transaction.  The Secretary will need the name of the exhibitor, species and gender of animal, original tag number, and replacement number.  Health papers will be presented to the species Superintendent when the animal goes across the scales at fair weigh-in.

  1. 2025 initial pig weigh-in was April 12th.  Market and Breeding hogs must be owned by weigh-in to be eligible for premium sale.
  2. Exhibitor must be SMQA certified.
  3. All hogs must be pre-registered. Registration must be completed by MAY of current year.  Available on website at home page…hocomofair.com

  6. All exhibits must be in place by 5:00 pm, Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
  7. An individual may show two market hogs and or multiple guilts, but only one swine may sell at the fair sale. Breeding guilts will ony be allowed to sell in one premium sale during their lifetime.
  8. Minimum rate of gain for hogs is 1 pound per day to be eligible for champion classes as well as the premium sale.
  9. Hogs must be born  Dec. 1, 2024 or after.
  10. All swine will be stalled by 4-H/FFA club that exhibitor is a member of.
